Quad City International Airport expansionĪ $17m expansion project was completed at the airport in 2001. Rockford International Airport (RIA) or as it sometimes called Greater Rockford Airport is situated around 68 miles northwest of the City of Chicago and just four miles south of Rockford in Winnebago County on a site of 2,900 acres (1,174ha). The south-east section of the terminal contains deplaning passenger services and concessions. The northwest section of the airport includes enplaning passenger services and administrative offices of Airport Administration Authority and Transport Security Administration (TSA). It has a seating capacity of approximately 370. Concourse B consists of six gates fitted with jet bridges to serve mainline narrow body and wide body aircraft. It offers seating for approximately 120 people. Two security checkpoints are located in the main terminal.Ĭoncourse A contains six gates, of which four are equipped with jet bridges for service of turbo-prop and regional jet aircraft. The terminal also has a connector hallway equipped with security screening equipment between the main building and the restricted concourses. The two concourses were modified in an expansion project in 2001. It contains one main terminal building with two concourses A and B. The 61,000ft2 terminal building was constructed in 1985. The passenger terminal area is situated between the thresholds of Runway 23 and Runway 13, in the North Central part of the airfield. Quad City International terminal features The latest version includes the addition of a new passenger terminal inline baggage system, construction of access road and parking, land use planning / development and improving the sustainability. The airport authorities are, therefore, framing a new master plan in 2012. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), however, did not approve these updates. The master plan of the airport was formulated in 1989, with a draft master plan update and companion airport layout plan (ALP) prepared in 2005. During the Dierks Bentley concert in 2008, we were able to hear the band begin warmups (a second time!) from our office and return in time for a great show."The airport, awarded "Illinois Primary Airport of the Year 2012", is operated by the Metropolitan Airport Authority." We are located 2 miles from the fairgrounds at 22068 Business Highway 151. In case of concert delays due to severe weather, ITS will be open to wait-out the storm. If you purchased Hillside bleacher seats or Grandstand seats, you are able to leave your seats and return. If you purchased track tickets, you must remain in the track area after you enter. Some clients have also purchased tickets and plan to stop and meet our team before finding their purchased spots. Please feel free to come-and-go at the ITS tent as you please, or stay the entire evening watching the concert from our tent. Portable toilets are also located throughout the fairgrounds. Indoor bathrooms are located in the Berndes Center (large air-conditioned building with vendors and exhibits), under the grandstand seating, and in the small brick building near the main gate at Maple and 7th Street. Some of our perennial favorites are gyros, ribeye sandwiches, ribbon fries, and smoothies.ĭrinks will be available in the ITS tent and throughout the fairgrounds. Your standard menu of fair foods are available: tenderloins, corn dogs, lemonade varieties, onion rings, pizza, funnel cakes, etc. There is no ticket required to access our tent after you have paid your $10 fair entry. The ITS tent will be on the North Hillside. If you choose paid parking in a private lot, you might enter along one of the two main gates on Maple Street. There will be a ticket kiosk where you can purchase your $10 entry. If you park in free parking on Diamond Drive, you will likely enter the fairgrounds by the golf course cart sheds/clubhouse at South Gate #1.
